I'm here tonight to not share with you some advanced technical piece of advice or some amazing words of wisdom, but instead a simple reminder. (One that I myself need to remember too!)
Don't forget to capture the every day life of your own children!
Somedays I think the only way I should take a photo is with an amazing location, perfect lighting, and some adorable prop, but when it comes down to photographing my own children in their day to day activities, that's not possible! They live in a cluttered home, there will always be a mess and that's okay!
I don't want my children to grow up and say, "Hey Mom these pictures of everyone else's kids are amazing, but where am I? Didn't you ever take pictures of me?"
I need this simple reminder that it doesn't matter if your white balance is perfect, if your photo is super crisp and clear or that the floor is uncluttered from today's toy explosion... take the picture anyways! Get down on their level, play with your kids and take some snapshots while you do it! Your kids will appreciate it someday and they just might become some of your favorite photos ever!
So, whether you're a photographer or not, go get your camera and start capturing every day memories!
